BIO

Brian Matross is a versatile musician who often transitions between wide genres of music like rock, afro soul, R&B. He plays multiple instruments including the piano, guitar, bass guitar and drums. 

He is also known as Sukwini. 

Matross was born in East London. 

His mother gave birth to him in his grandparents' house in eMdantsane. He grew up speaking his native IsiXhosa, English and Afrikaans.​

In 2005 a young Matross composed for Judith Sephuma,a Jazz and Afro Pop, Multiple Award winning artist. The song "Iinkanyezi" was featured on her New Beginnings album. The album won Judith Sephuma a South African Music Award (SAMA) for “Best Artist of the Year”. 

Matross' performances often consists of him on the electric guitar and vocals backed by a keyboard player, bassist and a drummer.
